With some thought, tight corners are transformed into practical spaces from a study spot for one to attractive display wall units.

For a growing family unit, a living space which is adaptable to change is often an unspoken pre-requisite.

The Parclife Executive Condominium Estate received a fresh interior design by Elements ID Interior Design Cosultants featuring a neutral palette of natural materials to reflect the apartment's unique views of the Sembawang hilly estate and the contemporary grandeur of the building's architecture.

The panoramic three bedroom apartment, is 1026 square feet at the largest; with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the urban landscape. The team at Elements ID spear headed by Founder and Director Victor Ng and Senior Interior Designer Estee Aw recently decorated its show unit, putting city living aspirations into reality in a tight space.

The neutral palette magnifies the intensity of the light. Warm wood cabinets lined the open plan living spaces. A tinted mirrored wall flanks the dining niche while a rustic industrial-esque eight-seater table divide the space seamlessly.

Gray prevails in the unit, attesting to the fact that the smoky shade can enliven a space. "Homeowners are usually worried that grey tones will be very dark and gloomy in the house. With strategic application in measured tones, the overall effect can be modern, cozy and lively," shares Estee.

Storage is also an essential especially in small spaces. Practical storage pockets are interspersed in the living areas as cabinets niches concealed behind wall units which doubles up as statement design theatrics. In the bedroom, beds are raised on a platform which double as storage which integrates a study table and more concealed storage on the wall. Custom side tables also incorporate storage spaces at the bases.

Elements ID signature of polished elegance through materiality is enhanced through the use of high shine surfaces draws the eyes up the walls and out, unimpeded, through the cohesive design scheme. Management of light is one of the key aspects of the experience of the apartment and the surrounding green landscape outside play out on the interiors to great effect.

The apartment is testimony that small spaces can imbue a luxurious aesthetics with practical forms and function for good measure.
