Multi-form and function at play- the kitchen extends to the dining area, courtesy of the paired tables; sequentially, the flow from the kitchen space to dining area exemplifies delectable material play.

Following a sneak preview in the kitchen as part of the backsplash, brickwork makes a significant return in the master bathroom.

Astonishingly, award-winning Thailand firm Hypothesis Design Agency was conceived out of boredom. Its three Design Directors Jessada Telumpusut, Manatspong Saguanwuthirojana and Yarinda Bunnag lamented the production of generic work, jaded with the lack of challenge towards the status quo.

Attempting to do things differently where everything is questioned- ways of working, production and outputs- the design team attempts to set out a new hypothesis with each new project. For this landed home in their native Thailand, Hypothesis approached the project with their philosophy- which is to not have a philosophy! Preferring to work without constraints of dogma, styles and methods, they undertook the preparation of the house with an agile, open-mind.

Within this home, an earthy palette occupies the main spaces. Utilising natural and natural-look synthetic materials, defiant touches of variant themes are imposed onto the warm, earthy environs, ranging from homely oriental character to raw-industrial finishes.

A wraparound outdoor lounge is clad in weather-resistant decking and fittings, set against refreshing floor-to-ceiling fenestrations, creating an open and vibrant setting. Inside, the kitchen segues into a dining space, where the island extends into a paired table set, each made from variant materials, establishing an atypical fusion. Industrial accents courtesy of the brick backsplash, pendant lighting, kitchen countertop and the cooker hood carry modern musings, albeit with raw charm.

Similarly, the privacy of the master bedroom carries semblances of continuity, with its earthy tones creating accentuated by modern-industrial bedside lights. The homeowners' expression of their personalities are physically realised in the oriental carvings and geometrics across the feature door.

The bathroom is straight-up industrial. Here, the bricks from the kitchen backsplash make a vivid return, the material pervading the space, creating a fuss-free bathroom. Its muted manner further elevates the stylish choices of overhead and hand showers.
