Grand Park City Hall hotel pays tribute to Singapore's heritage with art and design
Consider your next staycation at the Grand Park City Hall hotel.
Influenced by its historical location, the new hotel interiors and spaces feature a mix of neoclassical designs blended with clean lines to create a balance between the old and new. Incorporating Peranakan pattern tiles, vintage statement pieces and artwork of local landmarks, the interiors celebrate the modern and contemporary city with mirrored imagery that evokes the sensation of a futuristic world; a counterpoint to the rich past and multiplicity of cultures of Singapore.
Conceptualized by design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates, the hotel interiors also feature an art collection that recounts Singapore's history. Artist, illustrator and photographer Aubrey Kurlansky, who is based in Singapore, curated the modern art that captures the rich medley of cultural influences that have contributed to the making of the city nation today.
As part of the restoration work, Grand Park City Hall also feature new architectural design elements including an updated driveway and entrance. A new majestic bronze arch gate now fronts the entrance to the hotel's colonial-style façade, symbolic of the welcoming and attentive service that awaits guests as they step through the doors.
