Goodrich Global At the helm of new leadership

Goodrich Global turns 36 this year; the company has since carved a bigger niche in the Asia's interior furnishings market, maintaining itself as a market leader.

Since December 2017, Goodrich Global is converted as a consolidated subsidiary of Sangetsu Corporation. The acquisition of 70% of Goodrich Global's shares is a pivotal point in the future development to bring Goodrich to be an international champion brand.

Both of the firms' history has been closely entwined for more than two decades as working partners and industry leaders in delivering architectural solutions through an extensive range of wallcovering, fabric, carpet and flooring materials in Asia.

This acquisition is also a significant milestone, marking the change of guard at the helm, with Yasushi Furukawa as Chief Operating Officer, steering Goodrich Global to pursue its global business expansion and entrench itself firmly in the distribution network in Asia. Sangetsu Corporation believes that with previously acquired international brands like Koroseal and Metro, both of which have the biggest share in the wallcoverings market in the USA and Canada, is the impetus which positions the companies in good stead to increase global sales in the next three to five years.

Furukawa maintains a people-centric leadership with staff to build a dynamic synergy.

Strong market presence and solid product strategies are top of the list. Design professionals can look forward to product offerings displaying fine Japanese craftsmanship and diversifications such as Reatec, Glass Film, SP and XSelect wallcovering to penetrate the Developers' market. The premium wallcovering options are mainstays in the residential and commercial spaces. In the pipelines are plans to expand the product categories in wallcovering, fabric, flooring and carpet. "We hope to offer our clients more high performance furnishings that will cater also towards eco-friendliness' and good customer service.  We have also spruce up our product development teams and sample books designs to cater to our ever growing markets." shares Furukawa.

As a company which puts its people first, Goodrich hopes to continue and to stay relevant by achieving growth from within."  Its initiative "PLG: Personal, Local, Global" core concept aims to build a corporate group with a solid market position in Asia.

The plan begins with "Personal" and refers to each team member's personal knowledge, capability, personality, passion and approach.

Strengthening each team member's skill set from within emphasises the company's "Personal" ethos.

Demonstrating the skills set of a staff will help to create a "Local" sales network and strengthen distribution capabilities. Furukawa is confident that with each team player leveraging on his strengths in developing the business, a ripple effect leads to a synergy in the entire group when relationships are forged with business partners, architects and interior designers in the pursuit of product procurement on the "Global" market.
